About the founder

DOREENE L. HAMILTON

A cross between Wonder Woman and a Renaissance Woman Doreene Hamilton is forging an impressive and eclectic career path.

An award-winning actress, humorist and television producer and writer, Doreene earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and marketing from Howard University.  She skillfully incorporates, her business acumen and creativity into every professional endeavor.

Dedicated to service and growth Doreene currently serves as Executive Director for the Guy Hanks & Marvin Miller Writing Program sponsored by Drs. Bill and Camille Cosby. This intensive program is geared toward assisting African-American Writers in honing their craft and advancing in the entertainment industry.  .  Doreene’s outstanding work, with assisting African-American writers was honored by the State Governor, Senate and the Mayor’s office.

As an active member in the entertainment industry, Doreene puts her knowledge of contracts, casting, writing and production to work behind-the-scenes as well.  She has assisted in the development, casting and launching of projects for such wide-ranging venues as MGM, Dick Clark Productions, Tele-TV, King World, Fox, and Buena Vista Productions.  These accomplishments make Doreene a much sought after lecturer on the reality of entertainment industry business, policies and practices.

As former President of the Organization of Black Screenwriters, in Los Angeles, Doreene transformed the organization from a small support group to a vital, proactive, professional organization dedicated to advancing the careers of African-American writers in Hollywood. She also initiated the “OBS Griot Award”, to honor writers of African decent for their works in television and film

Doreene has been a student and lecturer of New Age and Metaphysical teachings for more than twenty years. As an ordained Minister of Metaphysics and Spirituality, Doreene uses her gifts to aid people in healing and gaining insight in their lives. She believes we all have the power within ourselves to live the life of our dreams.  Doreene uses her spiritual teachings to assist people in transforming their lives and also teaches them how to empower themselves.  She is the author of the book “Spiritually Speaking… Get Over It!

Doreene is now taking the next step, by merging Spirituality and Entertainment through her non-profit organization Emerald Vision ~ A Life Enrichment Center For Arts & Spirituality.  She strives to educate entertainment professionals on how to survive in the industry through a spiritual approach. She is also creating and acquiring projects that she is passionate about and taking them into full production.  Doreene’s goal is to bring stories to the screen that are not only entertaining, but also make a difference to the audience.
